Espresso Showlist
Experiments View
Welcome to the Espresso ELN tour! - The screenshot below shows a typical experiment protocol. Most of its elements were added by the click of a toolbar button to the right, while the condition graphs to the left were generated by the application.

Experiment Self-Organization
This reaction scheme was auto-generated. Clicking a step arrow reveals links to all experiments associated to this step, sorted by yield or scale.

Auto-Generated Panels
The materials summary, condition panels and event log are auto-created based on protocol content and user actions.

Material Details
The Espresso protocol remains concise by not repeating material constants over and over. These data still are accessible by clicking a material entry, which expands its detail panel.

Design & Lab Views
Espresso features a design view, which can be toggled with the standard lab view. The design view prominently displays material equivalents, while the lab view prominently displays material amounts.

Embedding Images and PDF
Image and PDF files can be inserted directly into the protocol workflow via drag/drop. Inserted images can be resized using a resize icon. The titles of inserted PDF files can be modified, and clicking the icon opens the content right inside the protocol area.

Materials Grouping
Materials can be grouped to visually indicate a solution or a mixture.

Reaction Substructure Searches (RSS)
Search results are grouped by identical parent reaction, and sorted by either yield or scale.

Server Connection
Espresso ELN seamlessly connects to an Espresso SQL Server database, whenever optional server licenses and the required server infrastructure are in place. This setup allows robust, centralized backup & restore, and is the basis for a knowledge base by providing data sharing.

Materials Database
The Espresso ELN materials database is designed to contain material constants only. Vendor specific variations (catalog number, purity) are stored separately as use-frequency sorted user favorites - providing quick, personalized material access.

Built-In Editor
Espresso features a built-in chemical drawing editor (Marvin Sketch by Chemaxon), which also accepts ISIS/Symyx/Accelrys Draw & ChemDraw content from the clipboard.
